Macrame

Macrame is a form of textile rope art that is created by using different knot techniques.

Our teachers will show you various knots to help you make either a pot plant holder or a funky wall hanging.

Design your own individual hanging accessory using sticks, beads, feathers or a range of other decorations.

Acrylic Painting

Acrylic paints are easy to work with and provide vibrant colors that you can manipulate to form different textures and consistencies.

Acrylic paints are water-based and consist of pigments that are distributed in an acrylic polymer suspension.

So, you have three main components that make up acrylic paints, pigment, acrylic binder, and water.

Paper Mache

Paper mache is a fun way to let loose and get messy! Design a fruit bowl for your table, create a cartoon character for your child’s bedroom, make a piggy bank, a pinata, or a hot air balloon…

The possibilities are endless. Sculpt your creation out of wire, paper, and glue and then enjoy finishing it in beautiful bright colours.

This is a class that could take a few times to finish as it takes 24 hours for your sculpture to completely dry.

Rock Painting

Rock painting is an enjoyable way to get creative without making a long commitment to finishing a larger project.

We simply paint small rocks in various designs and colours, using posca paints pens and acrylic paint.

You can decide if you would like to keep them at home to enjoy, hide them in the community for others to find or maybe you would like to leave it at Freedom Studios garden courtyard for others to admire and be inspired from.

String Art

String art is a great way to try your hand at woodwork.

Tap out your chosen design with a hammer and some nails to a wooden board, then complete it with some colourful string.

These artworks look great hanging up at home, you can make a name board for your child’s room, some cactus plants for your laundry or maybe an inspiring word for your living room.

Mandalas

Drawing or colouring in a Mandala can be extremely therapeutic and has been used for meditative practices.

The design can be as simple or as complex as you would like.

Using just paper, pencils and colourful pens, once this skill is learnt you can make this at home anytime you wish to help you relax and reduce anxiety.

Simply paint the design you desire using enamel clear paint on to glass bowls, bottles, cups or picture frames and enjoy the way that the natural light filters through the glass to bring your artwork to life!

Kokedamas

Kokedamas are a Japanese form of hanging garden art.

They are a miniature garden that is wrapped in moss sheeting and bound with string to hang in your favourite sunny outdoor area.
